White fillings are made from a tooth-colored blend of plastic and glass, designed to restore teeth affected by decay while blending seamlessly with your natural smile. In addition to repairing cavities, composite fillings can also be used for cosmetic enhancements — such as changing a tooth’s color or reshaping chipped or misshapen teeth.
During treatment, the dentist applies the composite material in thin layers, using a special curing light to harden each one. Once the filling is built up, it is carefully shaped to match the natural contours of your tooth and then polished to create a smooth finish that resists staining and wear.
